Evolution of 'Für Elise' from Manuscript to Mass Production

The video begins with an intimate close-up of an aged, handwritten manuscript of "Für Elise," dated 1810. A delicate purple flower rests gently on the yellowed page. The camera slowly starts to pull out and track backward in a large-range, high-speed motion. As the camera moves away, the scene evolves through time. The single flower wilts and vanishes, and the handwritten score is replaced by printed sheets being fed into a large, industrial printing press that comes into view. The quiet study gives way to a bustling 19th-century workshop filled with stacks of freshly printed music. Through the workshop window, a horse-drawn carriage passes by on a cobblestone street. The camera movement concludes on a wide shot of the printing press in full operation, capturing the mass production of the iconic musical piece.
